Hide me away.
Like a flightless bird with its head in the sand
Shutter my eyes
From what they cannot withstand.
Cast me out to sea.
Let me sink to deep dark depths
Where the spineless are hardly
Concerned with missteps.
Hoist me up
Into the grandest tall oak.
So I won’t have to face
Each absent keystroke.
Leave me there
Far from this reality
Where sticks and stones can’t break my bones
But words still seem to haunt me.
